The Process

The bronze sculpture is born of a process that usually begins with drawings or paintings of the subject from a live model, nature or photographs, then the sculpture is slowly created in clay. A mould is made of the finished sculpture, then at Burton Foundry, using the lost wax method, it is cast in bronze. It is at this point the patina is applied.  While a bronze sculpture is always a welcome addition to your home, it can also be placed on a plinth or a rock in the garden where it will be affected by the elements and continue to increase in character as it ages.
