“The ideas for my sculptures and paintings are usually based on nature or the human form. They can be a prominent individual such as Mahatma Gandhi, whom I greatly admire, or the tenacity of the wind blown coastal trees of the Pacific Northwest, where I live. I am also particularly struck by the character of the face and how we are subtly different, yet fundamentally the same. Whether it is sculpting, painting, children’s book illustrations or simply doodling while on the phone, everyday needs some form of creative outlet”
